After publicly putting to death men, women on charges of having illegitimate relations, the Taliban has nowadays taken up the job of organizing marriages too.  As per the BBC report, the dissatisfied group has set of connections of a ‘marriage centre’ in Swat intended for individuals boys and girls who would like to choose their life partners according to their personal will, on the contrary their family members are not in favor of it. “We have specified a phone number for this purpose. On that boys and girls contact and express their willingness for marriage.

Taliban after registering them contact their family members,” Taliban’s spokesperson told the BBC.  Khan expressed that according to the Islamic law, each and every Muslim has the true right to tie the knot. He told that at present 300 boys and girls have registered their names at the center, as well as with reference to eleven couples have already been married in the last nine days. What is most interesting is that, a local resident exposed one occurrence as soon as a boy proposed a girl in his own colony, but the girl family members were not supported  the relationship.

In an incident took place in Swat Valley where a 17 year old girl was beaten but the Taliban denied the fact. “The act is in accordance with shariah, but the flogging did not happen in Swat,” The News quoted Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesperson Muslim Khan, as saying. Khan claimed that the punishment was according to what is described in the shariah. “No one would be allowed to interfere in shariah, and if any man or woman commits sin, we will punish them according to sharia. Peace is directly related with the imposition of Islamic laws,” Khan added.
